Vegas or Bust!

We are off to the wonderful Las Vegas for a tradeshow, kids are home with grandma and grandpa Nash. I don't know if you should wish us luck or grandma and grandpa.......

Columbia River Sternwheeler

Geography lesson #1:

There is a river called the Columbia River that separates Washington and Oregon, we live on the Washington side and Portland sits on the other side. So, we are literally minutes from tax free Oregon.

Ok, so back to our lesson;

The Pacific Northwest has some of the most beautiful scenery that I have ever seen! Lush green tree covered mountains, waterfalls, amazing bridges, add in the most perfect summer weather at a nice 75-80 degrees and you get the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge.

So, when some friends of ours who manage the Columbia Sternwheeler called and invited us to go on a day cruise with them up the Columbia River we gladly accepted.

The views were stunning and the kids had a blast! They got special permission from the captain to drive the boat...literally! Otto had the ship swaying back and forth and Lily was keeping a watch out for other boats. The captain (who the kids thought was santa in the off season) was a great story teller and told us some great stories about Lewis and Clark who first found the Columbia River.

If you ever get a chance to come up our way, this is a must stop for all visitors!

Hula Mula is one of the 2008 Earnie Award Nominees
in the Best New Brand Category for Design Excellence.

Earnshaw’s 32nd Annual Earnie Awards honors design excellence in children’s fashion. Retailers nationwide selected nominees in a variety of categories, representing all distribution tiers. The winners are selected exclusively by retailers’ votes. Earnshaw’s will announce the winners in October. (at ENK, during a dress up dinner event...LOL)

The Earnie Awards ballot is included in the August Earnshaw’s and online at earnshaws.com. Retailers’ votes must be received by September 8, 2008.

In order to promote your nomination and thank the children’s apparel retailers for their support, I invite you to include a display advertisement in the September or October issues of Earnshaw’s. Winners will be spotlighted with advertising and editorial coverage in the November Earnshaw’s.

Being selected as one of only three manufacturers in your category is a significant achievement.

Happy Birthday Ruby!

Ruby turned 1 yesterday! We had a lil luau BBQ at grandma's house, and we set off diet soda bombs. It was also nice to have uncle Andy here for the big day.

Ruby loved her presents, she had to kiss and cuddle every present she opened. She LOVED her birthday cupcake, as you can see by the pictures.

Ruby also started walking on her birthday, (Lily did the same thing on her first b.day)!
