Blessing Day
We had a wonderfull weekend, filled with family visiting for Ruby's blessing. Melanie and Tyson (along with Nash and Mya) were here and Nanny and Poppy came from Atlanta. The cousins had a great time playing together...well, except for Nash and Lily (lets just say that Lily is a bit bruised, but I am sure Nash is too). Mya is a midget and never stopped eating the entire weekend! I am not kidding....and she is a funny lil thing. Ruby was a perfect baby for the blessing, she didn't make a sound.
Daddy is so proud of her, and he held her high up to the sky after the blessing to show the entire congregation his baby girl, it was very sweet. It was a happy/sad feeling to know that this was my last baby to be blessed......

First Day of School!
School started..yeahhh!!! They were both so excited and ready for school. The girl layed out their new school suppies every night and just looked at them and re-arranged them a million times. Then night before, Brooklyn carefully layed out their outfits, and packed the lunches, and told Lily exactly what to expect the next day.
They were so excited, you would think it was christmas!
So, the next morning we got up and got dressed and the girls literally sat by the door waiting for the Ok to walk to the bus stop.
You could tell that Lily was anxious, but she was so excited too and thought she was so big!
I followed the bus to the school so that I could help Lily find her classroom, once we arrived at the door to wait for the teacher, she moved closer to me...and watched the other kids line up, without saying a word, the first time that I have ever seen her so quiet!
FInally the doors opened, and Lily walked right in. She found her desk, picked up a crayon and started coloring right away, I could tell that she was so happy, she needed to be back in school so bad, this is her element...miss independent!!
Brooklyn was excited to go also, and she was the BIG sister, helping her little sister with everything, and introducing her to her friends at school. She is in a classroom without her best friends, but I think she will do fine, she makes friends easily and she is such a good student, and is so obedient and loves to choose the right. She loved her teacher, so that is a big plus!!

Las Vegas Baby!!
We just got back from a great week in Las Vegas!
Trent and I had a trade show there, and we decided to take the kids (like we do every year) but this time, we had a 3 week old baby along for the ride. I have to admit that my kids a GREAT travelers, they know that we do not let them out of seat belts and we bribe them like crazy....Ruby was the hard one, she wanted to be held the entire trip...(she is a mamma's girl big time!!) Other than the usual, "are we there yet" questions, we survived the drive.
Once we finally arrived in vegas, it felt like summer just began. We have had really weird and odd weather at home and the kids didn't get to play outside much...so they were dying to go swim and lay out in the sun.
The kids turned into water bugs all week....they swam from about 10am-4pm everyday. They finally got some sun and little tans on their butts!
One of the fun events at the tradeshow (magic) is the fashion show, Knuckleheads and Hula mula were both chosen to be a part of the kids show. Brooklyn was so amazed that these kids were up there doing it, she was full of questions and wanted to know how to be a model and how the kids got to do it....(ugh!)
Also at the show is a large children's magazine that photographs designers clothing for their next issue, and we have always used Otto as the model at past shows, but this time with Hula Mula here we got to use Brooklyn and Lily for the photoshoot.
All week the girls practiced in front of the mirror, turning, posing, flipping hair.....
The girls were so excited the day of the shoot......and when we get there, the photographer askes who goes first, and Brooklyn jumped right up there and instantly starts posing, flipping hair, hands on hips...changing expressions....it was so funny! I didn't think she would really do it.
Then lily gets up there.....miss personality...and she is a dud! She freezes up and just stands looking sad.
So, the photographer gets both girls together to get Lily to lighten up with her sister....I thnk he got some good ones.
Lastly, Otto (who is the pro) gets up there and totally lights up the camera...posing, relaxed and having fun. People started gathering around watching him...we even got offered to work for a huge modeling agency in vegas (which we turned down).
Anyhow, it was a fun trip for the kids and lots of suveniers later (thanks to Circus Circus's games).
Now, we have to get ready for school to start on tuesday......Yeahhhhh!!!
