And you thought you were unorganized
Help! I am drowning in my office! Yes, this is my office/makeshift old dinning room. I moved my office to my house finally. I just can't get any work done at the office and lets just face it, it isn't practical with Ruby and Otto still at home during the day. So, I took the formal dinning room (which we never used) and I am in the process of making it my office. But I feel so un-creative there. So, any ideas??? And yes, the samples must stay. It looks like a makeshift closet, but I need my clothing samples for each season I am working on. I think I have a place for the piano in the living room, and then I need to sell my dinning set. ......Help me before I drown in here!

Hey I hear you.... I have been converting our Dining Room into my art studio.
Sorry, I can't help you...I'm drowning, too, in my own office. When you get some help, send them my way :c) Good Luck
Melissa- you are a busy work at home mom, it's unrealistic to think you can work, take care of the kids & organize your new office in one day. So two options are 1: Have your husband or someone else take your kids for a generous amount of time, turn off phones, lock the doors and dive right in & don't stop until it's done, or 2: Set aside 15 minutes a day & work each day until it's done. Good luck!
Joe's friend is married to a super model and they live on Broadway in NYC in a million dollar apartment with NO space. She uses a beautiful armoire to hide her computer and other office "stuff". I copied her idea for my stuff. When you are done you can shut it away!! What's good for Kathy Ireland and Jill Goodacre Connick's best friend is good enough for US! Right?? ;)
Dining set? How many chairs and are the seats padded? We got ours like 3 or so years ago and had horrible problems from the beginning! GEE, I wonder why Wickes went out of business. ha,ha
i say you call on a professional! it is your EVERYDAY space after all and it is how you support the family, so it might be worth some professional advice and help. good luck. that is going to be a big project!
i was talking to lorna about this and realized that hiring a pro would totally be tax deductible! go for it.
a familiar scene:)
thanks guys! I should look into a pro....I just don't want to tackle it myself!
Oh I wish I could come out and whip you into shape. I LIVE for organizing. That would be my dream job, to go into peoples offices and closets. You would laugh if you could see my basement. It is a toy heaven, and my kids have to check out toys. Yes, I'm crazy. And yes, it stays clean. My point is, I would love to help you organize. Good luck!
I'm all for the armoire thing. If it's going to be a mess, even an organized one, you should be able to hide it! Jerimy and I are looking into doing that with our desk. I feel like it's an eye sore as soon as clients walk in!
i'll come and help...i love doing things like that. oh and i want your table set!
